Hello everyone! I feel like I haven't blogged in such a long time, but today I wanted to call in to share one of my latest creations for Blue Fern Studios featuring brand new patterned papers from the Deja Vu collection.

I've used one of my treasured photographs of Holly when she was newborn which match the Deja Vu Un Voyage A Paris, Atelier, La Plume and Tresors patterned papers beautifully.

I've also used the "Miracle" title taken from the Spiritually Speaking chipboard set along with Gatsby Collage which I have decorated using watercolour paint to coordinate with the rest of my layout.

Thanks for dropping in today, I hope you like my layout!

Blue Fern Studios - My Projects For May

Hi guys. Today I wanted to drop in to share my May projects for Blue Fern Studios.

I've featured the brand new Deja Vu collection in both my new projects along with a few beautiful pieces of BFS chipboard.

In my layout titled "Believe" I've added colour and texture to my chipboard pieces using a combination of art mediums, watercolour paint, coloured pencil and markers to really bring this stunning frame to life.

For my second project I decided to create an 8 inch x 8 inch canvas using some of the leftover pieces of Deja Vu patterned paper from other projects along with the new BFS Winter Flake Frame, again colouring my frame with a combination of art mediums and watercolour paint. This really is an exciting and fun way to decorate your chipboard and so addictive! I love using this technique!

For more detailed photographs and explanation on how these projects were created, please see my post on the Blue Fern Studios blog here.

Thanks so much for calling in today! Have a great one!

Love - Blue Fern Studios May Sketch Challenge

Here we are in May already. We've had loads of rain over the past couple of weeks and it seems there is more on the way. We've been lucky so far - only lost a couple of branches off our trees but the wild winds have really been hitting the coast and area pretty hard, and I know there have been quite a few people with water damage, left without power, even whole houses destroyed and lives lost. I thank Heaven we have avoided the worst of it all.

Today I want to share my take on the new May sketch for Blue Fern Studios. I've used the brand new released Deja Vu collection in my layout, creating a subtle watercoloured background to coordinate with the patterned papers.

One of my favourite techniques lately is to paint my chipboard pieces with watercolours, and I absolutely adore how the Floral Medley Frame and Floral Spray chipboard elements have turned out using this method.

I've simply then gone ahead and layered them together along with some of the lovely images from Deja Vu La Plume and Friperies patterned papers.

Here's a copy of this month's sketch challenge, and don't forget there is a great randomly drawn prize package from BFS up for grabs and the chance to have your layout featured on the blog!
