A Sad Farewell

May last project for The Scrapbook Store this month features papers and embellishments from the gorgeously vintage FabScraps collection, Oh! Sew Beautiful. Absolutely perfect for vintage sewing/tailor themed pages - I just love the button patterned paper in this.

I've added two chipboard pieces - the scissors set which can be found here and that sweet old vintage sewing machine. I've given both these pieces a coat of gesso then added a touch of colour to coordinate with the rest of my design using Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Tattered Rose.

This is my very last project for The Scrapbook Store. I've been on this wonderful team for two years now, but sadly the time to leave has come. Suzanne and Marelize have been such an inspiration and I will dearly miss being part of TSS.

But with every ending comes a new beginning. I have some great news to share soon, lots has been happening behind the scenes and I'm looking forward to exploring and sharing my new adventures.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. Spring has arrived in my part of the world and the weather is amazing and I have lots to be thankful for :)

A Wedding Layout - 7 Gypsies Harmony Collection

There's a brand new sketch open at Sketchbook 365 and this month we are featuring papers and embellishments from some of beautiful 7 Gypsies collections.

I've been working with Harmony, a neutral coloured set of papers and ephemera which work really well with the wedding theme I have used here, but it would work equally as well on a masculine layout, heritage, family or memorabilia page.

I've used a layered style, adding foam dots between my layers and adding some distress for a worn and well loved look.

There is another great prize up for grabs this month - a collection of 7 Gypsies goodies - hope to see your entry again.

Thanks for dropping by,

Today I want to share my second layout created for The Scrapbook Store this month featuring the new My Mind's Eye collection, Just Sayin'.

I've really love the pops of shiny gold glitter here and there which look totally fabulous - the photograph really doesn't show off how beautiful this is but it makes such an impact. I'm also really loving the acetate overlays in the bottom left corner and to the right of the design forming part of the layout title. Such a fun look.

Therm-O-Web Eye Candy & Blog Hop!

So, who out there loves a good give-away? I know I do, and I'm sure there are loads more beside me! This week I am thrilled to be showing off my latest mixed media project featuring some fabulous adhesive products from Thermoweb, along with one of my favourite BasicGrey collections, Grand Bazaar.

I've created a collage style canvas featuring patterned papers from Grand Bazaar to create my flower petals, center and leaves which I've applied using a combination of 1/4 inch SuperTape™ and iCraft Adhesive™ Sheets. I then went ahead and added art mediums, paint and mists using lots of vivid color to bring this piece to life.

I've used Thermoweb Zots Singles Clear Adhesive Dots along the top of my canvas, giving me some great dimension to play with and colored them with bright acrylic paint to coordinate with my design. This is an unconventional way to use this product, but I love how this has turned out and I will definitely be using this technique again in other projects. Here is a closer look at how these turned out, don't you love it!

...a row across the top...

...and another row on the side of the canvas shown here. They look so FAB!

Along the bottom right hand side I've created more dimension this time using 1/2 inch 3D Foam Squares, again painting them up for a cool look.

I hope you've enjoyed my project today featuring Therm-O-Web Adhesives and BasicGrey Grand Bazaar collection

For your chance to win, just leave a comment on the BasicGrey blog here and tell us what type of adhesive you like to use most. Double your chances of winning by leaving the same comment on our Facebook post! We’ll draw a random winner on Friday afternoon. Good luck!

Please note, leaving a comment for me here would be super nice, but won't qualify you for the draw. See above :)

Love You 2

Today I am up on the Scrap365 blog featuring a layout with loads of fun layers in soft pastel shades. I love a layered look and feature this style in many of my creations and it's one of the techniques I just keep coming back to.

Team this up with some fabulous papers and embellishments from Maggie Holmes and I am one very happy scrapper.

For a closer look at some of the details and further explanation, please see my blog post here.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend - I'm looking forward to a creative one.

Art In The City - BasicGrey

Time to share a new BasicGrey layout - this time featuring the brand new collection from Kelly Purkey, Second City.

I love bold colour, and this collection really appeals to that side of my nature. I was also immediately inspired by the cityscape graphics, reminding me of a recent trip to Melbourne with busy streets, tall buildings and the most amazing street art to be found down hidden laneways.

I've also created a do-it-yourself step x step showing how I created this piece from start to finish, which can be found on the BasicGrey blog here.

Hope you enjoy it!

Oh my goodness, another brand new month has arrived! And so have the brand new Prima releases. This month I've used papers and embellishments from Cigar Box Secrets to create my layout for the sketch challenge at The Scrapbook Store, creating lots of layers with loads of colour and texture.

The photograph is one of my very favourite treasures - a portrait of my Nan when she was a little girl. I've scrapped this photo before, but I never get tired of it and it seemed to fit the theme of this Prima collection beautifully.

I've created a watercolour background using a combination of Ceramcoat Acrylic paint, gesso and Lindy's Stamp Gang mist on a 12x12 canvas sheet - the finished effect is fabulous, and really adds to that vintage feel.

Here is a copy of the sketch, don't forget to add your entry to the gallery this month for the $40 gift voucher to the store!
