BasicGrey - Imagine The Possiblities

Today I get to share one of my latest creations for BasicGrey using the brand new Grand Bazaar collection, which is just too awesome for words. Love the colors, patterns and all the added elements available in this line and I was totally inspired to create something fun and whimsical with it.

I've used a photograph of Holly staring off into the distance, adding stickers, chipboard, fussy cut images, frames, brads, acetate and a couple of BasicGrey cut files from the Silhouette store.

You can find my post on the BasicGrey blog here, and since it went live last night (AU time) I've had lots of requests to step out the background techniques used. I'll be writing a post on this soon using lots of fun mixed mediums and how I like to use them.

Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the rest of your day x

It's time to share details for the new Sketchbook 365 July challenge, and this month the team and I have been so lucky to have the opportunity to work with the stunning products from 7 Dots Studio.

I've been using Nature Walk - a beautiful neutral toned collection perfectly matched with my masculine photograph.

I've used Musical Blooms patterned paper as my background, adding layers from both the Die Cut Tags and Die Cut Elements sheets. I've fussy cut a few elements and added them around my photograph to create focus along with a handful of pretty flower blooms and leaves and a scatter of sequins.

Here is a closer look at some of the detail - isn't that dragonfly image just divine!

Of course the finishing touch is always the title - here I've used a metallic gold alpha. Perfect for this special moment.

Hope you can join us this month for our sketch challenge, it's such a fun one! I've rotated mine clockwise, but you can use it as it comes, flip it, rotate it or work with it upside down!

Manor House - Life Is Good

Today I want to share my second layout created for The Scrapbook Store using the new Manor House Creations collection - Country Estate.

By pure coincidence - or perhaps my subconscious mind was at work - I reached for some of our wedding photos to use with this collection. You see, it was only after I had finished creating this layout I remembered our wedding reception was held at a venue called "Manor House". It was one of those "wow" moments when it finally dawned on me what had happened, especially since I had already chosen to use some of the Manor House packaging as a feature in the layout.

I've layered up lots of elements from the patterned papers, stopping to fussy cut a couple of the cabbage moths and bird from the die cut sheet as well as a few of the banners.

I've also added some felt doilies to the layers, a flower and a sprinkle of sequins which really set the whole wedding theme off perfectly.

Thanks for calling in, I have another new collection to showcase next week so I'll look forward to sharing that.

Supplies used:

Manor House Creations Country Estate patterned paper - New Day
Manor House Creations Country Estate patterned paper - Journal
Manor House Creations Country Estate patterned paper - Die Cut Sheet

Wedding Day

This month for The Scrapbook Store I have been creating with the brand new Manor House Creations collection - Country Estate.

For my first project I've chosen to keep things clean and simple with a photograph of my husband and I on our wedding day using a felt doily behind my photo, some die cuts from the Country Estate collection along with a matching paper flower, a sprinkle of sequins and a Prima resin angel.

This is a very quick and easy design and could be recreated in well under an hour - maybe even minutes! Great style for anyone short on time.

Supplies used:

Manor House Creations Country Estate patterned paper - Cabbage Moths
Manor House Creations Country Estate patterned paper - My Garden
Manor House Creations Country Estate collection Die Cut Sheet
Manor House Creations Country Estate collection Flower Pack Mix
Manor House Creations Country Estate collection Felt Doilies

Flower Girl

Life has been a little crazy lately and I'm finding myself a bit behind on things, but I've finally managed to get a start on June. I know - it's the 6th already, craziness!

Marelize has been creating our sketches for us at The Scrapbook Store, and I absolutely love this one! Instant inspiration hit me. I've rotated the sketch clockwise and replaced the flourishes with some gorgeous Imaginarium Designs chipboard feathers I've had in my stash for an age waiting on the right project to come along. The day finally came!

My background was created using Lindy's Stamp Gang mist, and I've added lots of flowers, some of the new Prima wire thread (LOVE this!) and a sweet little wood heart icon!

Here's a closer look at some of the detail - please forgive the glare off my photo, it's pouring rain here today and this was about the best I could get for the day under my lighting.

Here's a copy of the sketch, hope you can join us this month and be in the running for the $40 plus free postage in-store voucher! Don't forget to upload to our gallery here.

Love This Smile - BasicGrey

Dropping in today to share my latest creation for BasicGrey using Highline collection. It's no secret how much I love the bright colours and fun design in Highline, and when I pull it out of my stash I always want to create a happy page. Today I've used some sweet photographs I took of a friends little girl just after she had donated her front teeth to the tooth fairy. She had such a gorgeous smile!

Close ups and more info on how I've created this one can be found on the BasicGrey blog here.

Thanks for calling in today!

My Last Three Projects @ C'est Magnifique

Today I am sharing my last three projects for C'est Magnifique kits, not only for the month of June, but my term with them is over and I'm taking the opportunity to free up some of my time for other things. I can honestly say I have really enjoyed my time at CM, everything from the beautiful kits and getting to know the amazing Design Team there has been an wonderful experience and I am sad to be leaving.

But, I am leaving on a high note. The brand new June kit has been such an inspiration and I've absolutely loved creating with it - I think my very favourite for the past six months. I've tried mixing things up a bit, creating layouts using completely different styles for me and I LOVE the results!

My first layout for today features a couple of gorgeous photos of a scrappy friends daughters - thank you Lisa! I've created lots of layers using papers from Kaisercraft which are found in the main kit, along with a lacy die cut and some sweet whitewashed wooden icons.

My second layout features a photo of my DH, featuring neutral shades with papers from 7 Dots Studio, flowers from Prima, Blue Fern Studios chipboard and lots of Tim Holtz rub-ons. I really went mad with the rub-ons and am really thrilled with how perfect they look on this page.

My final layout features a cleaner look with simple paper layers and just a few matching embellishments. I really wanted the black patterned paper background to shine, and chose a stunning photograph of my eldest daughter Holly to feature.

Thanks for dropping by today. All of my layouts were created using papers and embellishments from the brand new June kit from C'est Magnifique, along with a splash of gesso from my own stash.
